For our August 2012 image we’ve got not one but two great images for this month, and of course its Olympic themed. The first image is from our extensive archive of historical imagery that was passed onto the English Heritage, from the 1948 Olympic Gamesopening ceremony! The second is from our 2012 BlomOBLIQUE capture of the new Olympic Stadium.
The 1948 image was actually quite a lucky find as the original negative was listed on record as being destroyed, but it was only by pure luck that we found a print of it downstairs in some of our archive material still left in the office. It’s amazing what you find lying around sometimes!
