BLOM AWARDED CONTRACTS IN ITALY WORTH NOK 69 MILLION

Italian Ministry of Environment has awarded a contract of NOK 103 million to a joint venture in which Blom`s Italian subsidiary, CGR, has a leading role. Blom`s share of the contract is NOK 54 million. The contract will be completed within 2nd quarter 2009.

The project includes covering all Italian rivers and coastline with LiDAR technology to establish a terrain and surface model, and implementation of a data management system. The terrain model will be used to estimate and predict hydro-geologic risk (e.g. risk of flooding). The pan-Italian database will be utilized by Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Defense and several local governments.

The project is consistent with the standards of the EU directive INSPIRE (INfrastructure for SPatial InfoRmation in Europe), whose aim is to stimulate the availability of environmental information in Europe.

Blom`s Italian subsidiary CGR has further been awarded a contract of NOK 15 million and the work will be completed within the 4th quarter 2008.
