BLOM GEOMATICS MOVED AERIAL OPERATIONS TO RAKKESTAD AIRPORT

Blom Geomatics, Blom’s Norwegian subsidiary, has moved its aerial operations to Rakkestad Airport, Aastorp.

At the international GIS day, Wednesday November 19, Blom Geomatics held an opening party at Rakkestad Airport in Aastorp, celebrating their recent move from Torp Airport and to introduce the Company to the local people. Håkon Andresen, Managing Director at Blom Geomatics, and Andreas Holter, Head of Resources at Blom ASA, were greeted with flowers by the local Mayor, Peder Harlem. He was proud Blom had chosen Rakkestad Airport as the company’s new location. This means approximately 18 - 19 new positions will be created in the area.

The hangar was open for the public and people of all ages visited the local airport. The visitors were allowed to have a closer look at the two Blom planes that were on the ground this day, for the event. In addition, Håkon Andresen held a presentation for the local students. The day turned out to be a huge success.

The hangar at Rakkestad allows for six planes to be on the ground at the same time. Norrona, who are responsible for all service and maintenance on Blom’s planes, are also located at Rakkestad airport. This is very convenient for Blom, and supports the decision to move to Rakkestad.
