Blom Romania S.R.L, the Romanian subsidiary of Blom ASA, has signed a contract with the Oradea S.A. Water Company to deliver technical assistance for new infrastructure. The expected value of the agreement is approximately NOK 18 million. The project will start in summer 2011.
The project includes technical assistance and supervision of planning of infrastructure for water and waste water treatment.
The contract confirms that the company's strategy to expand its activity in the growing economies in Central and Eastern Europe has given results. The contract also confirms that the company has successfully been able to expand into new services to its established customer base.
The infrastructure in many Eastern European countries has a significant need for renovation and expansion. During the last year funding for this kind of projects has increasingly been made available by among others the EU and the World Bank. Blom presently experiences an increased level of public tenders related to infrastructure projects, of which the water and waste water management project with Oradea S.A. Water Company is an example.
