Blom has signed a laser scanning contract with the Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad in Costa Rica. This is the first LiDAR contract the Blom Group has won in Costa Rica. The laser data will be used for a hydroelectric project in Costa Rica.

Blom Sistemas Geoespaciales, the Spanish subsidiary of the Blom Group has signed a contract with the Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad in San Jose, Costa Rica, for the implementation of photogrammetric LIDAR. The contract covers laser scanning of an area of approximately 10,000 hectares for a hydroelectric project. The project will be implemented in April 2009. For this project Blom will use a LIDAR Optech ALTM Gemini scanner combined with a digital medium format camera.
