Blom signs oblique imagery contract in South Eastern Europe

Blom, one of Europe's largest companies within collection and processing of geographic information, has signed a contract with Land Development Agency of Belgrade in Serbia. The contract is for delivery of photogrammetric images covering 17 municipalities of Belgrade with a total area of more than 3,200 km2. The contract includes delivery of oblique and vertical aerial images, together with software and training for management of the imagery.

The images will have several applications in regional and city planning. One key area of use is to enable the municipalities to better manage land development and to identify illegal construction work. The software delivery will provide added user functionality as well as seamless integration of the images with the customers’ existing Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and Computer Aided Design (CAD) systems. Blom will provide user training to increase the utilization of the images to a range of planning and engineering purposes.

The expected completion of the production is by end of third quarter 2010. The customer has permanent rights for internal use and has licensed the images for public internet usage for a period of 2 years.

The contract award is a confirmation Blom’s focus on expansion into South Eastern Europe is moving forward, and Blom aim at playing a key role in the geo data and cadaster sector in this region.
