Blom has returned from a successful CIGRE, International Council on Large Electric Systems, conference in Montenegro. Blom both participated and sponsored the national event. The CIGRE regularly organise conferences across the world and the Montenegro conference was attended by representatives of important energy companies in the region of South-Eastern Europe. Blom presented TopEye helicopter based LiDAR technology which is suitable for high accuracy representation of power lines.
Blom is the leading European supplier of geospatial services for many large European organisations in the Electrical sector – including companies such as e.on, RWE, EDF and TRANSELECTRICA. Blom also demonstrated our skill base for implementing Geographic information Services (GIS) into the energy sector. Blom has worked on GIS feasibility studies for EPCG, a leading energy distributor in Montenegro, and for CEZ in Romania, Albania and Bulgaria. Both TopEye LiDAR and GIS technology provides energy companies with an effective management system for maintaining their assets, which can significantly reduce their operational costs. Blom offers a wide range of innovated solutions for both the transmission and distribution segment of the energy sector, which in turn provides a large return of investment as well as reducing the requirement of high risk site visits.
