Blom to begin significant cadastre project in Eastern Europe

Blom has signed a contract with the National Agency for Cadastre and Land Registration in Bucharest, Romania, for the digitizing, data conversion and processing of properties in a significant cadastre project in Romania. As part of the Complementing European Support for Agricultural Restructuring (CESAR) initiative Blom will systematically register all immovable properties in the Land Book in 17 Romanian municipalities.

“Romania – towards a modern Land Administration - Transition from Sporadic to Systematic registration”

To properly register all the properties Blom will identify and describe all properties before digitizing the data. Identification will include information on the respective items’ measurements and representation in cadastral plans, and collection of legal documents. The systematic registration will give a full overview of property rights and result in collection of the necessary documents to prove ownership or possession. In addition, all holders of condominium constructions will be identified and registered.

The main goal of the project is to create and secure a complete and up-to-date digital cadastral register, and cadastral plans, for the municipalities. Furthermore, the aim is to make this information easily accessible and available through the Land Books.
