BLOM UK PASSES EXTERNAL AUDITING ASSESSMENT
Blom UK introduced an Environmental Management System (EMS) in 2007 as part of its integrated management system. Its purpose was to enable environmental issues to be effectively managed and to ensure that the company complied with legal requirements.
As well as controlling the environmental risks for specific projects the management system is used to minimise the environmental impact of the organisation’s everyday activities.
Since introducing the EMS, the awareness of environmental responsibility amongst staff has increased with good support for the company procedures ensuring the efficient use of energy and the correct disposal of waste.
In December 2010, Blom UK achieved accreditation to ISO 14001 after passing a three day audit by a BSI external assessor. ISO 14001 is an internationally accepted standard that defines the requirements for establishing, implementing and operating an Environmental Management System.
ISO 14001 accreditation confirms the effectiveness with which Blom UK delivers mapping services whilst managing environmental performance.
