Swedish Scanpix has together with Blom produced an image service that provides access to Blom's aerial images with an angle of 45 degrees. The oblique images cover approximately 1,000 major cities in Europe. In Sweden alone, the imagery covers 37 Swedish cities and 22 municipalities. The service is the first of its kind in Sweden. The image server gives access to Blom's geo server BlomURBEX™, which allows for online streaming of Blom's images and models.
The database consists of a patchwork of images where the user can zoom into the desired position, select the direction of the image and then simply download. For Scanpix’ customers, this means that they have quick and easy access to unique images. The imagery is based on Pictometry® technology.
"For news events there is great value for our customers to easily be able to illustrate specific buildings or larger areas. With Blom’s aerial imagery, where the image libraries are continually updated, this is possible," says Lina Hedenström, Marketing Manager at Scanpix.
"A partnership with Scanpix is in line with Blom's quest to reach out to new customers and users of our database of unique aerial imagery," says Cecilia Lindén, Product Manager at Blom.
